Student Wins Originality Matters Poster Contest
After evaluating the 190 posters submitted to Plagiarism.org's Originality Matters Student Poster Contest, and narrowing it down to ten finalists, we emerged with a winning poster designed by Madeline Ocampo, a 17-year-old senior studying visual arts at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA).
I had the opportunity to call her to break the news. She was so genuinely excited to have won, saying, "Oh my god, that's so awesome!" followed by seven more "Oh my gods."
The genuine joy and excitement I could hear in her voice showed she was honored to win and be recognized for something that she has a true passion for—of course she was also excited to win the $1,000 prize as well.
